Deep Sky Astrophotography
Deep Sky Astrophotography from Scotland, UK and around the world. I use a mixture of techniques including using a star tracker right here in my back yard and a 200mm/2.8 lens, as well as various prime lenses. I also like to use the wonderful Telescope Live to remote into scopes around the world.
Of all the technical challenges in producing images such as these, I find them the most satisfying and awe-inspiring. Some of these pictures are built from as little as 30 minutes acquisition time, wheras others are up to and over 10 hours! The process to edit and produce them is technically challenging and takes many hours. Visit here to learn how to photograph and process.
